Frequently Asked Questions

  • At Samson, you work one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy for your entire plan of care. You will not see multiple doctors, have visits that you share with other patients, and you will not be passed off to assistants or techs. You have the undivided attention of your doctor for your entire one-hour session. We combine high-level clinical care with strength and performance training so you can not only get out of pain for good, but return to your active lifestyle and sports without medications, injections, or surgery.

  • No, we are an out-of-network, cash-based clinic. This allows us to spend the full session with you and treat you based on YOUR needs not what insurance dictates. Many of our patients use HSA/FSA funds. You can also submit a superbill to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have out of network benefits.

  • Cash-based physical therapy means that we are out of network with all insurance companies and do not directly bill through insurance. You pay at the time of service, and you receive the type of care that gets you better faster: full-length, high-quality treatment sessions focused on long-term results, not short-term symptom management. Cashed-based physical therapy allows us to focus all of our attention on you as the patient and perform treatments to focus on YOUR goals without being dictated by insurance rules and regulations.

  • Our patients are able to pay with cash if they so choose but we also accept major credit and debit cards as well as HSA/FSA and Care Credit.

  • Insurance companies in the United States are continually cutting reimbursement rates for rehabilitation services and dictating how clinicians treat patients. With this decline in reimbursement, many clinics are forced to treat multiple patients in the hour and lower patient care standards in order to make ends meet. These clinics rotate patients in and use assistants and techs to complete treatments. Patients do not receive the individualized care they need and are encouraged to go through exercises with little to no supervision. With a cash based practice, we are able to decide how we want to treat patients as we are not regulated by the insurance companies.  This allows us to provide 1-on-1 care for our patients over the course of the one hour treatment session with the same physical therapist every time.

  • Since Medicare guidelines dictate that those covered under Medicare Part B must see a Medicare provider for physical therapy services, we are unable to treat individuals with Medicare insurance for physical therapy services; however, we ARE able to see patients for services that are not provided by Medicare such as health, fitness and wellness. This means we can see patients for personal training and wellness activities.
